Our story
Glass is a timeless material that has accompanied humanity in many forms for over three thousand years. It embodies both fragility and strength, beauty and utility. It is ever-changing, yet enduring. Czech masters have elevated its craftsmanship to a new level—thanks to knowledge passed down through generations, they have created a phenomenon recognized worldwide.
Czech glass owes its name to this rich tradition. People around the world associate it with exceptional quality and masterful workmanship. What most commonly comes to mind in connection with Czech crystal is its distinctive cut. Delicate patterns and precise edges create a symphony of light, earning Czech crystal admiration across the globe.
The Making of VAAZA
The creation of VAAZA took many months, during which we searched for the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Together with Czech glassmakers, we developed the first prototypes. These were gradually refined and perfected in every detail until we arrived at the final VAAZA.
Our VAAZAS are hand-blown and hand-cut in Czech glassworks. The story of each piece begins with gathering molten glass onto a blowpipe and carefully shaping it so that it perfectly fits into a mold made from hard wood. These molds are crafted by woodworkers on a lathe and refined by hand using chisels.
When glass is blown into wet wooden molds, the wood burns slightly—this is why no two VAAZAS made from the same mold are ever completely identical.
After annealing, each VAAZA is thoroughly inspected. Only the highest-quality pieces proceed to the hands of skilled cutters, who give them their final form through hand-cutting. Combined with the wooden mold process, this ensures that every VAAZA carries its own unique character and subtle variations in shape.
How the Story of VAAZA Began
The idea for VAAZA was born between two friends who believed that even something as ordinary as a vase could offer more than its traditional purpose. They set out to create an object that would not be hidden away when not holding flowers—something that brings joy even on its own.
The reason is simple: every owner imprints a piece of their own soul into each VAAZA. Like glass itself, VAAZA is ever-changing, distinctive, and becomes something entirely unique in the hands of each individual. It invites creativity and self-expression. Every owner becomes an integral part of its story.

As a product designer, I have always been drawn to craftsmanship and beautiful objects. I have consistently sought to expand not only the aesthetics but also the function of products through innovative design.
I believe VAAZA offers endless possibilities for decoration while drawing its owner into a creative, never-ending process. I am truly grateful that we can collaborate with a team of masters who are deeply passionate about their craft—from product and graphic designers to glassmakers, cutters, a gardener, and my partner Marek. VAAZA is far more than just a vase.

I come from a family of gardeners and florists, so I have been surrounded by greenery from a very young age. This upbringing shaped my relationship with plants and my attention to detail—both of which have influenced my personal and professional life.
Together with Vít, we explored how to use my long-standing experience to connect art with nature. We found a way and created VAAZA—an exclusive product into which every owner can place a part of themselves. A true masterpiece of Czech glassmaking.
